It is not a pursuit of immortality or an interest in legacy. It is simply a picture, an idea for the consideration of an interested observer. It is something to add to their perspective. Perhaps it is only an experience second-hand or one which touches an idea inside of them that seemed to have no other human connection. Authorship is unavoidable and our brief existence insures that our works will outlive us for a time. Eventually our names will lose all connection with the ideas we have wondered about, but through the communion of art and viewer, these ideas may find their place in our reflections and stories and flow in the blood of those who will never know us. |
